Twenty-two-year-old Cindy Kahuha was born and raised in Nairobi. She went to St. Elizabeth Academy and later Le Pic Primary where she completed her primary education. She later joined Loreto Kiambu High School but finished her secondary education at Wellspring Academy. She is currently pursuing a degree in psychology at the University of Nairobi.

How she got into acting

Cindy started acting at the tender age of six. “My mum had been cast for a show called Wingu La Moto where her character was supposed to have a daughter. The producers were having a hard time getting a suitable young girl to play the part. One day when I’d accompanied my mum to set, she asked the director if I could be given the chance to try out for the part. That’s how my acting career began.”

Her role on Kina

Cindy plays Zuri on the popular Maisha Magic Plus telenovela Kina. Zuri is a young, passionate, caring, somewhat naïve and spoilt 24-year-old girl.

“What I really enjoy about playing Zuri is how the character has taught me to be more patient and to see the vulnerable side of people, which they’re not willing to disclose. I also like the flip side of the character; the reckless, adventurous, and crazy side of Zuri which my real life would not have space for! The challenge is always to maintain the very definitive line between Cindy and Zuri.”
