In the season finale of M-Net’s entertaining original production The Wedding Bash(ers), newlyweds from Johannesburg, Franco and Taryn, won the season finale!
The spirited and creative couple impressed celebrity bashers Cindy Nell, Denise Zimba, Siba Mtongana, and Zavion Kotze, garnering them the highest overall experience score and placing them on top of the pack. The lovebirds walked away with a spectacular wedding gift from the show: prizes to the value of over R800 000!
Taryn and Franco enjoyed a Lebanese/Portuguese mash-up wedding which was featured in the very first episode of the series, at the trendy Jo’burg inner city rooftop venue of The Living Room in Maboneng. Their nuptial celebration was an urban city chic event, with a generous budget of R150 000 and 110 guests. The pair relied on some serious Lebanese family ties to bring their special day together, and in the end their wedding ticked all of the boxes when it came to food, fashion, décor, and entertainment.
Wedding planner extraordinaire Zavion noted that this wedding is his “favourite décor by far”, while party girl Denise was more than impressed with the DJ and entertainment. Celebrity chef and food expert Siba also observed that their catering – consisting of many different types of tapas - was clever and creative, stating that she “thoroughly enjoyed” the culinary offerings!
The winning couple took home an amazing prize package which includes R250 000 cash from M-Net, designer appliances from Gorenje worth R200 000, a seven-night second honeymoon courtesy of The Moorings and Air Seychelles, R100 000 worth of jewellery from Jack Friedman and R100 000 of make-up and cosmetics from Essence, Caribbean Tan, Lov and Catrice cosmetics.
On top of the celebrity squad’s feedback, viewers were also able to have their say throughout the season by rating all 22 of the uniquely South African weddings on www.mnet.tv/weddingbashers. The Viewer’s Choice wedding of the season, as voted for by the public, was Kylé and Mark Steyn’s intimate celebration, as they eloped with a humble budget of R30 000 and only 24 guests to the scenic coastal town of Paternoster. Kylé and Mark walked away with a five-night second honeymoon on a group yacht, courtesy of The Moorings and Air Seychelles, along with R50 000 worth of jewellery from Jack Friedman jewellers.
