The Wedding Bashers are back! Save the date this Sunday (14 October), for the special season two premiere of M-Net’s popular original local TV series, The Wedding Bashers! M-Net’s awesome foursome will be making their way to fifteen diverse nuptial celebrations across South Africa, in search of the most perfect and distinctive South African wedding.
This season, the show's resident connoisseurs, decor-guru Zavion Kotze and entertainment specialist Denise Zimba, welcome two new Bashers – chef and food stylist Zola Nene, who will be honing in on all the culinary delights, and former Miss SA Bernelee Daniell, who will be weighing in on the fashion and style of the weddings.
Along with two new Bashers, the format of the show has also been refreshed.
The Wedding Bashers will now focus on one wedding per episode, giving viewers the opportunity to intimately experience and share their opinions on the festivities of the couples’ big day. The Bashers will still critique each wedding in their various areas of expertise, namely the décor, food, fashion, and entertainment, but this season the rating will be done according to a new rating wheel representing levels such as “OMG Amazing” and “Ho Hum”. On top of the rating wheel, the Bashers will also rate each wedding with an overall experience score at the end of each episode that, when added together, will determine the top five weddings that make it to the finale of the competition. Viewers will also be kept informed of the top five weddings throughout the season, with a brand new leaderboard that will be updated weekly.
Another addition to this season is that the winning couple will be chosen by you, the viewer. The couple that receives the best viewer rating from the Bashers top five walks off with the title of Wedding of the Season and will unwrap some amazing wedding gifts. The winning couple will take home a R250 000 cash prize from M-Net, R100 000 worth of Jewellery from Jack Friedman Jewellers, and a five-night second honeymoon from Seychelles Tourism, courtesy of Constance Ephelia Seychelles and Air Seychelles, valued at R 80 000!
Viewers also stand a chance of winning a five-night getaway to Constance Ephelia Seychelles by simply visiting the show page here to rate the weddings before 10 PM on Tuesday nights.
In this Sunday’s premiere episode, it's a surprise (that is not really a surprise) on the KwaZulu-Natal-Mpumalanga border, in the small town of Wakkerstroom. Viewers will meet bride Heather and her Polish husband-to-be, Rafal, who are preparing to tie the knot with an intimate and sophisticated Polish wedding celebration. One worrying factor: the groom's buddies were rumoured to be planning an epic pub crawl for the night before the big event. Tune in on Sunday to see how it all panned out!
The Wedding Bashers was conceptualised by Gavin Wratten and is produced by [sic] Entertainment. The show is broadcast on M-Net channel 101 every Sunday night at 18:00.
