Denzel Washington once again graces our screens in our Sunday Night Movie, The Equalizer 2.
Much like the first movie, the story centres around Washington playing a retired US Marine and ex-DIA agent McCall. He still fights for the oppressed and uses his unique skill set to do so. When McCall's dangerous past cuts especially close to home, he will need all of his skills to settle the score. This time, he must come face to face with highly trained assassins who will stop at nothing to destroy him.
Here's five intriguing facts about the movie:
- The original movie is based on a US TV series of the same name, which ran from 1985 to 1989.
- Washington has an impressive filmography with over 55 titles to his name, however, this is the first time he has acted in a sequel.
- Cast and crew fondly called the movie 'The Sequelizer' during filming.
- It is the fourth time that Washington and director Antoine Fuqua combined their talents. Their other projects include The Equalizer (naturally), Training Day, and The Magnificent Seven.
- There was an unfortunate incident during filming which left two security guards wounded after a shooting.
