Itโ€™s the month of love! Valentineโ€™s Day is around the corner and what better way to get in the mood than drooling over Marc Buckner in the second season of The Bachelor SA. Thatโ€™s this Thursday at 19:00 on M-Net โ€“ but the romance doesnโ€™t end there.

This weekendโ€™s Sunday night movie revolves around romantic love andย family love, as we feature South African rom-com Kandasamys: The Wedding. The follow up to the highly successful Keeping Up with the Kandasamys, it reconnects us with Jodi and Preshen who are getting ready to tie the knot - but not without a lot of hilarious interference from their mothers and the rest of the family.

Director Jayan Moodley shared a few set secrets with us, which made us giggle and warmed our hearts all at the same time. Check them out below.

  1. Roads were blocked off during shooting, but pedestrians caused quite a stir when they spotted Aya's germ mask on her face.
  2. Jailoshini Naidoo, who plays Jennifer Kandasamy, cannot swim and needed to fall into a swimming pool for one of the scenes. The rivalry between Jennifer and Shanti Naidoo (played by Maeshni Naicker) carried on off set: Maeshni constantly teased Jailoshni, telling her she wouldnโ€™t rescue her if she didnโ€™t behave.
  3. The wedding was shot in the middle of the ocean in Umhlanga, at the whale bone pier. Itโ€™s now become a popular request to host weddings here!
  4. When the people of Chatsworth realised the film was also being shot in their neighbourhood, residents starting sending food for the two lovely female leads.
  5. Jodi and Prishen have been in four films together. They have played each other's love interest in every single one.
  6. As soon as Mariam Bassa walked into her audition, the director immediately knew she had found her Aya.
  7. Rushil Juglall, unlike his character Arsevan, is a chatterbox who never stopped talking on set. He was constantly coming up with lines for his character, but they were turned down!
  8. During the fight scene, shot from around midnight to 4AM, there was a huge crowd of onlookers. Some even brought their camping chairs to sit around and enjoy the show.

Feel the love with Kandasamys: The Wedding, your Sunday night movie on 16 February at 20:05 on M-Net channel 101.
