Drake's winning streak is now slowing down. The Canadian rapper's record as the most decorated artist in the history of the Billboard Music Awards got an extra boost at the show on Sunday, where he added top artist, male artist, rap artist, rap male artist and rap album to his impressive collection. The wins were for his highly hyped album "Certified Lover Boy." This brings the total number of his awards to 34, five more than Taylor Swift's 29 gongs.

Doja Cat's explosive year also continued earning her the flowers she so deserves. She was named top R&B artist and R&B female artist for the second consecutive year, as well as top R&B album and female artist. Olivia Rodrigo's clout spills into 2022 as she walked away with seven awards, the most out of every artist for the night. Ye walked away with six awards, most which saw him claiming new victories within the gospel genre.

Queen of Hip Hop and Soul Mary J. Blige was honoured for her indelible contributions to music with the Icon Award. Fittingly, the award was presented by Janet Jackson as the 'Family Affair' legend was accompanied by Diddy to accept the tribute.
