Gunna's clout is mounting up to make him one to watch in 2022. And the rapper's latest project, DS4Ever, has reportedly outsold The Weeknd's 'Dawn FM' . This become Gunna's second consecutive number one album debut on the Billboard Hot 200.

According to Billboard, Gunna's 19-track tape, which boasts guest features by the likes of Chris Brown and 21 Savage, enters the chart with 150,300  equivalent album units during its first 7 days of doing the rounds. The numbers don't lie, and in this case have helped the Goergia native to spoil The Weeknd's party.

The Weeknd's highly buzzed  'Dawn FM' was expected to earn the Canadian hitmaker his fourth consecutive #1 album debut on the chart. The album landed too much fanfare on 7 January 2022, follows the record breaking chart success of its siblings; 2015's Beauty Behind The Madness, 2016's Starboy and 2020's blockbuster After Hours

That streak gets disrupted by Gunna's offering.

Both artists have been banking on a whole lot to propel their releases to the top of the charts. The Weeknd's Dawn FM follows the success of After Hours, an album that broke several records and spawned him no less than two #1 singles. Despite minimal promotion ahead of it's highly buzzed premiere, The Weeknd is considered the bigger artist. Gunna, on the other hand, has been enjoying a wave of publicity for a number of reasons, including his rumoured relationship with Chloe Bailey.
