Last week’s joint press conference announcing the launch of Big Brother Titans drew a predictable amount of attention on Twitter with broadcasters, journalists and, of course, fans sharing their thoughts on the coming season. 👊 Each of the conferences – one in South Africa and the other in Nigeria – revealed certain facts about the coming season, so it’s worth repeating them here for anyone who didn’t catch them.

While this is not the first time that Nigerian and South African housemates have lived under one Big Brother roof – Big Brother Africa lays claim to that – this is the first time that it will only be these two countries taking part. The show kicks off on 15 January, and the housemates will be competing for the grand prize of US$100 000– a nice payday in anybody’s book. It’s going to be a long fight for that money, though – the season will be taking place over the course of 77 days, which means plenty of content.

That content was already the subject of much excitement as fans shared how they hoped the show was starting already – even though that would mean missing the holiday season:

It didn’t take long for the fan shade to start – despite not a single housemate being known:

Some fans are already clear about their best reasons for watching the show … to be fair, these two know what makes for an exciting season:

So … wars on the one hand, and international love on the other. All in just 77 days. Should be fun.

Fans were treated to appearances by former housemates for both Big Brother Naija and Big Brother Mzansi, and much love was shown:

There is still a lot we don’t know about Big Brother Titans: will there be multiple houses, or just one? Will there be ninjas? Fake housemates? Latecomers? We just don’t know, but we know where and when to find out: channel 198 on DStv on 15 January 2023.
