Big Brother has just raised the stakes in the Show Ya Sef House.
How does MIPOW work?
Unlike the Head of House title, MIPOW isn't won through a challenge. Instead, it's decided by the people who know the game best, the housemates themselves.
Every week, each housemate will score their fellow contestants from 1 to 5 based on their influence in the House. They'll consider who has brought the most energy, effort and entertainment to the game, with 1 being the lowest score and 5 the highest.
The housemate with the highest overall score will be crowned Most Influential Player of the Week, with the winner announced every Sunday.
Influence comes with rewards
Winning MIPOW isn't just about bragging rights.
This season introduces a Most Influential Player Prize Pot, which will grow throughout the competition. Towards the end of the season, the weekly MIPOW winners will get to share the accumulated prize pot amongst themselves.
That means every week presents another opportunity to earn more than just immunity or power, it offers a chance to secure an additional cash reward.

Biggie also revealed that this season's ₦100 million cash prize is no longer fixed.
While the House begins with the full amount, it is now the housemates' responsibility to protect it.
Throughout the season, Big Brother will present tasks, challenges and gameplay moments that test their teamwork, commitment and ability to entertain. Every time the House meets Biggie's expectations, the prize money remains intact.
But failure comes at a cost.
Should the House fall short, ₦5 million will be deducted from the grand cash prize. Every deduction will be announced, ensuring the housemates know exactly how much of the winner's prize remains.
Where does the deducted money go?
The money doesn't disappear.
Instead, every naira deducted from the winner's cash prize is transferred directly into the Most Influential Player Prize Pot, increasing the amount that will eventually be shared among the season's MIPOW winners.
In other words, every mistake has a consequence and every strong performance has the potential to pay off.

With the introduction of MIPOW and a fluctuating prize pot, Show Ya Sef has become more than a race to the finale.
