Nigerian Idol history was made this season as a contestant made Seyi Shay cry, another made DJ Sose crawl under the table and yet another got Obi Asika screaming ‘No!’. Here are all that and other must-see moments from Auditions Week.
Weird and wonderful
You know what they say about judging a book by its cover? This table highlighted the adorable 17-year-old multi-instrumentalist Ebunoluwa, who let nervousness get the best of her as she sang with a shaky voice but ended up wowing the judges with her stage presence.
Did you ever hear someone singing the national anthem in an audition? When he stated that he would be performing the anthem at the Auditions, we all wondered how 27-year-old Chukwuka would pull it off and impress the Judges. Until he sang it with the smoothest and most unique tone ever, which left everyone feeling patriotic through the performance.
Beyonce (NOT Knowles) came through the doors with an amazing aura that the Judges loved instantly. Not only did the 16-year-old leave an impressive mark on the Auditions stage, but her bold performance also left the fans wanting more. It would be a crime to round this up without highlighting the moments 23-year-old Joshua earned a standing ovation from Seyi Shay, Kingdom got a hug from DJ Sose, and also left Seyi Shay teary-eyed. They all sure deserved the Golden Tickets!

Oh no! Oh no! Oh no, no, no, no!
We can’t easily forget the memorable 29-year-old Ivan whose rendition of Aerosmith’s classic ‘Don’t Miss A Thing’ drove DJ Sose under the table. Also, 19-year-old student Onyinyechi stood out on this list as she had quit her job just before the Auditions but did not meet up to the Nigerian Idol standards. After getting three nos from the Judges, she went on pleading for a second chance, which caused Seyi Shay and DJ Sose to walk off the set.

Who gave the best Judges’ reactions?
We can all agree that this season’s contestants gave the Judges a tough time and entertained the viewers with their antics during Auditions Week. From the table of the Judges, DJ Sose, Obi Asika and Seyi Shay served the best smirks, grins, eye rolls, wide eyes, jaw drops, and many more reactions that made the Auditions even funnier.
