As we'd mentioned before, Nollywood has climbed up the film 'leader ladder' and occupies the pedestal of creativity and innovation with a mix of culture. Last week, we brought you 3 of 5 films that make us wanna live in our local movies theatres and now we bring you the cream of the crop courtesy of the industry's top producers... and on that note, here's your top 2.

2. Mokalik

Claiming the number two spot is Kunle Afolayo’s upcoming Mokalik. Known for buzz-worthy storytelling and spectacular premieres, the multiple award-winning film maker got Nollywood excited when he released images of the flick. Starring crème de la crème members of Tinsel town, Femi Adebayo, Big Brother double wahala’s Tobi Bakre, and songress Simi, we’re certainly in for a nice surprise.

1. Gold Statue

Imprinted in gold and told by Nollywood veteran film maker Tade Ogidan, Gold statue makes its grand landing this year. After enjoying much buzz for several months, this star-studded serving is the producer’s grand-slam comeback after years of hiatus.

Housing an array of Universal Nollywide faces, Gold Statue parades acts such as the nation’s zaddy* RDM, Sowa Sobowale, Ali Baba and Judith Ndu amongst many others and is sure to get cinemas jammed this year… Well worth the wait if you ask us!
