How do you kick off the countdown to the biggest celebration of African film and television? By unveiling a mouth-watering Red Carpet presenter lineup, of course!
We’re pleased to announce that this year’s Red Carpet will be manned by our sartorial dream team comprising of Toke Makinwa, Uti Nwachukwu, Sika Osei and Adams Ibrahim aka VJ Adams. This stylish foursome will be on hand to chat to the stars as they walk the AMVCA 9 Red Carpet on Saturday 20 May, 2023 in their finest awards show garb.
AMVCA red carpet fashion never disappoints – and our seasoned hosts will be hard at work on the ground, bringing us all the glamourous and over-the-top looks of the night. We guarantee there will be plenty o. Remember the live goat on the carpet in the last edition? 🙌🏾 Our hosts will also be chatting to our nominees and other film and television industry personalities, to catch the story behind the outfits, as well as source some predictions for the night before the main ceremony kicks off.

VJ Adams makes his debut appearance as host, joining our style staples Toke, Uti and Sika on the red carpet, who all promise to set a dazzling tone for what looks to be an unforgettable evening filled with glamour and high fashion.
Best Dressed Male and Female selection on the night
Viewers will be able to select their Best Dressed Male and Female on the night, just like last year. Attendees interested in being considered for this award are to be on the Red Carpet between 16:00 WAT (17:00 CAT) and 17:30 WAT (18:30 CAT) to have their pictures taken in our specially designed AMVCA photo booth. The Top 20; 10 men and 10 women, will be shortlisted by the AMVCA Style Council and shared on Africa Magic’s Instagram page @africamagic. Fans will be given the opportunity to select their winner by using the ‘Like’ icon for their favourite best-dressed guest between 6pm and 8pm. The male and female pictures with the highest ‘Likes’ will win the coveted awards and will then be announced on stage.
Viewers at home can follow every moment of the show, which will be aired live on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv from 16:00 WAT (17:00 CAT) on Saturday 20 May, 2023.
