Nigerian Idol is back baby – and it’s back with a BANG!
Judges Launch

“Professionals”, rookies, and the most ridiculous of performers graced our screens last night, as Nigerian Idol Season 7 exploded onto screens, to a great reception😄. No, seriously; we are not kidding. Minutes after the show started, Nigerian Idol was literally at the top of the trends list on Twitter, and we couldn’t be happier😆 because e mean say “Our face show and our shoeshine”. 😜

You all know we have some brand-new Judges on the show this Season and because of this, many were keen to see how well they would do in this first episode. Well, it would seem our judging panel is a complete hit! Many of you rolled out the heart-eye emojis and pointed out how happy you were that Simi and D’banj have joined Obi Asika at the table. The consensus is; Simi is excellent for technicality, D’banj is just right for showmanship and of course, Obi Asika is perfect on the business side of things; and we totally agree!

The Season started with a banger that hit a very sweet spot when D’banj had an impromptu duet with Obinna a Nigerian Idol hopeful who unfortunately did not get to clinch a Golden Ticket. We are sure it's a moment Obinna will never forget in a hurry because “he’s gonna be a super starrrrrr”😂. Are you confused about that last part? Don’t be. Just click the link below and you will get the full gist of what you just read.😄

Jitey was the first act to snag a Golden ticket and opened the floor for other Golden Ticket winners who stunned viewers with their amazing skills and abilities.

As we said in our opener there were rookies and those who sort of… lost their way? 👀 Some of these people however made sure that what they lacked in talent, they delivered in comedic relief – even if they did not intend to. One thing is clear judging by last night’s reactions. Nigeria Idol fans are glad the show is back and can’t wait to stan their faves!
