The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards are not only about the Nominees and the shows they win awards for. Africa's biggest celebration of Africa's talent is also about the fashion, the makeup looks, and the hair; literally everything 'glitz and glam'.

In this edition, we got to see our guests going head-to-head for the night's special awards – 'Best Dressed Male' and 'Best Dressed Female'. This year, Best Actress In A Drama (Movie/TV Series)' award-winner Osas Ighodaro, also walked away with the 'Best Dressed Female' award. Talk about a double portion of luck!

Osas looked every bit the movie star she is in a stunning Veekee James creation; a long sheer dress with glitter, complete with an elegant train. She matched that with a natural glowing makeup look and finished it off with a low bun for her hair, a clever choice which kept all the attention on her dress. Talk about understanding the assignment.

One colour, in particular, seemed to be a hit on the Red carpet. There were a lot of variations of pink in all shades worn both by the ladies and the men, and of course, the dresses were bigger and more extravagant than ever.

Pretty Mike did not only draw attention to himself with his large diamond-studded headpiece but what he brought along to finish off his look had all of our jaws dropping. Styled by Toyin Lawani-Adebayo, celebrity stylist and reality TV star, Mike had an actual live goat with him as part of his look.

Actress Lota Chukwu joined Red Carpet host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu in standout gear by Mai Atafo. Her pink suit was inspired by comfortability, but it still had to be sheek, of course. Former Big Brother Naija Housemate turned actress Maria Chike also came out in a burgundy Veekee James dress.

Denola Grey bagged the AMVCA 'Best Dressed Male' award for his burgundy Mai Atafo suit with shiny studs on the blazer. To complete the look, Denola rocked a satin black shirt and shiny pointy black boots. Fabulous!

Princess of Africa James Brown brought us a regal look fit for royalty. Styled by Toyin as well, the socialite dubbed herself  “The Duchess of London” during the night, as that was the inspiration for her outfit.

When we say Africa's stars bring it on the fashion carpet, it's no joke. You either bring it or stay home. To all our wonderful guests, thank you for taking our AMVCA Red Carpet seriously – and thank you for giving us a total feast for the senses. We can't wait to do it again!

The eighth edition of the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards was brought by Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice and is proudly sponsored by Amstel Malta.
