Day 9: Post-nomination blues rock the house! – BBNaija

News
05 August 2025
With the whole house up for possible eviction, the game has gotten extra serious.

By the looks of it, Biggie has finally said, “enough playing, now WORK for that prize!” With voting lines wide open and every housemate except HoH Victory and Kayikunmi up for possible eviction, the real game has officially kicked off, and not even the red envelopes or Tree of Trinkets could save them this time.

If the housemates thought the surprise HoH Challenger twist was the plot twist of the season, then the nomination drama that followed must’ve knocked the wind out of them. Between envelope hunts that led nowhere and the whole house landing on the chopping block, tension is running high, and so are the side-eyes.

Now let’s talk about the resident snail of the season, Otega, who finally found the time (and energy) to address the simmering tension with Sabrina. Their relationship has been serving cold tea and passive-aggressive shade for days, and it all came to a head when Otega asked Sabrina why she blows everything out of proportion. This, of course, followed the now-infamous moment where he asked if he should steer clear of Sultana, a question Sabrina didn’t quite appreciate, seeing as she’s cool with Sultana. The drama, the confusion, the long pauses – we’re entertained.

Meanwhile, the KolaDorisDede triangle is spiralling into chaos. Kola thought it wise to tell Doris that he wanted to talk to his “type”, Dede. After realising Doris might’ve been upstairs crying, Dede, understandably shook, asked “She cried for you? (A line we’ll be quoting all week, to be honest). Kola then told her that while Doris is “intelligent and a good person,” she isn’t quite his aesthetic. Kola did not appreciate Doris’ full-on verbal takedown that ended with her calling him an insulting word… right next to the cameras. So… where does their friendship stand now? We’ll let the silent treatments and strategic avoidance speak for themselves.

Over in the danfo, Tracy was craving some action. “I wish I had drama,” she said, moments before drama located her. Kuture asked the ultimate question: “If you had immunity, who would you have saved?” Tracy’s answer? “Well, it would've been that person… but we had a fallout, so now… I’d save you.” Oop! From friends to “she who shall not be named,” the Big Soso shade is as strong as the Tree of Trinkets.

Speaking of messy decisions, Victory has left Nigeria gasping. Not only did he choose Joanna as his HoH partner, but he also saved Kayikunmi instead of Gigi Jasmine. This, after reassuring Gigi Jasmine that she had nothing to worry about when it came to Joanna. But that foot rub Joanna got earlier in Gigi’ Jasmine’s presence? It might’ve been the soft launch of Victory’s new chapter. Is Gigi Jasmine done? Or is this just a lovers’ quarrel with more foot rubs to come?

And finally, let’s check in on Bright Morgan, who is no longer playing a silent game. After being called out by Ebuka (yes, that moment), he’s somehow managed to become Gigi Jasmine’s comfort buddy, or as she now calls him, her “big brother.” Friendzoned? Possibly. But he’s not sulking, instead, he’s making new moves with Mide in the garden danfo. Could this be a slow-burn ship in the making?

One thing’s clear: this house is a jungle, and only the sharpest players will survive. With Biggie’s eyes watching, tension rising, and viewers voting, it’s anyone’s game. So, who’s playing to win and who’s just surviving the week?

All housemates are up for possible eviction this week, with the exception of Head of House Victory and Kayikunmi, who has immunity after being saved by the HoH.
