Housemates celebrated Nigeria's Independence Day with traditional fashion, playful banter, and a surprisingly heated, house-dividing argument over the simple task of washing dishes.
BBNaija S10 Day 67: Morning Article

The atmosphere in the Big Brother house this morning was a vibrant mix of preparation and simmering tension, all set to an upbeat Nigerian soundtrack. Housemates were buzzing with excitement for the Independence Day festivities. Koyin was the ultimate multitasker, scrambling eggs, fixing his hair, and carefully ironing his traditional attire. Faith ironed his own clothes while Dede was in full glam mode, expertly doing her makeup, spraying perfume, and dancing in her beautiful traditional outfit.

However, the celebratory mood took a sharp turn when Mensan, who was doing the dishes, asked that housemates wash their own plates. This seemingly simple request triggered a significant argument with Faith. Faith argued that no one should be forced to do anything they might resent, suggesting that Mensan should just "rather not do it."

The disagreement escalated when Faith walked in on Mensan discussing the issue with Koyin. Accusing Mensan of being fake, Faith immediately called him out: "Leave the dishes if you don't like washing dishes. No one cares what you do. You are weird for speaking when I am not here." Faith, clearly furious, even placed a chair on the kitchen counter, claiming Mensan was washing dishes with "ulterior motives." The intense disagreement went on for quite a while, with Faith maintaining, "If you want to talk, say it in my face."

Despite the tension, the house was still filled with playfulness. Kola and Dede kept things light with morning banter. Kola playfully suggested that people outside liked Dede because of him, prompting her to instantly call him a "gold digger" in return. Their dynamic was playful and flirtatious throughout the morning.

As everyone finished getting ready, Mensan looked dapper in his traditional attire, and Koyin danced joyfully in his blue ensemble. They moved on to the day's tasks. Head of house, Jason Jae, gathered the housemates and read the brief for their Independence Day task: baking desserts.

What followed was a moment of hilarious chaos. Kaybobo carefully read the recipe for vanilla cupcakes, but the housemates ended up baking comically deformed cupcakes. Faith squished the failed creations and tossed them away, but the laughter over the baking mishap was enough to lift the house's mood.

As the day settled, the housemates shifted gears. Sultana put on her finishing touches in the Head of House condo. Kola was seen rocking the baby doll in his arms, embracing his new parental duty. Meanwhile, after the fiery argument, Faith took a nap in the lounge, and Mensan retreated to the kitchen, seemingly in his head and deep in thought.

The morning proved that even on a national holiday, the housemates could transition from high fashion and celebration to high drama and reflection, all before lunch.
