Day 63: The house where silence speaks louder than words – BBNaija

News
27 September 2025
From shocking evictions to ships in turmoil, torn scripts, shady kisses, and even a food heist, the house was a whirlwind of creative chaos this week. Friendships rekindled, tempers flared, and silence spoke volumes as the race to the finale draws near.
Week 9 Dearest Biggie Reader

The week began on a rather traumatic note as the house came to terms with the reality of losing four housemates to evictions, including a shock departure on Saturday that saw Thelma Lawson and Bright Morgan leave. Mass evictions or not, the game must always go on, and this week’s theme of Creative Expression called upon the housemates to showcase their unique artistic talents. Friendships were tested and hearts were mended. Dede stepped up as Mide’s pillar of strength in the absence of Bright Morgan, a support she herself needed after Joanna’s eviction. An unexpected bond also emerged between Dede and Faith, much to the delight of viewers who were quick to ship the duo.

Monday night brought a turn of events as Sultana claimed victory in the HoH challenge, narrowly edging out Faith, who professed pride in her win. Sultana, ever observant, calmly informed him she knew otherwise. The live nomination show took an intriguing twist: with no envelopes to hunt for, the first three finalists of the 10/10 season – HoH Sultana, Most Influential Player Mensan, and Kaybobo, who answered the correct Red Telephone call – were already revealed to Nigeria and some to the house. Sultana’s “save” card from the Tree of Trinkets was met with housemates pleading their cases one-on-one.

In the end, she chose to play fair and save no one. Predictably, Jason Jae and Isabella were far from pleased, with Isabella spending much of the week ignoring Sultana. Reconciliation came at the Thursday Night Pool Party, where she fulfilled her HoH guest duties with flair, distributing drinks to her fellow housemates.

Diary Sessions this week were illuminating. Housemates reflected on the evictions that shocked them most, and those they expected to leave sooner. Isabella admitted Thelma Lawson’s exit surprised her, while she had thought Mide would have been gone by now. Curiously, Mide felt the same about Isabella, highlighting the mutual sentiments they hold for each other.

The ship verse, as ever, offered its usual intrigue. Kola approached Dede about forming a ship, hinting he still harboured feelings, only for Dede to emphasise the respect she has for her outside relationship, noting that her choices in the house remain within the house. Faith too probed Dede, and she reluctantly shared a little about how they met. Meanwhile, Isabella found herself perplexed by Koyin’s “shady” antics under the sheets, providing yet another chapter of reality TV gold in their on-and-off relationship.

Aligned with the week’s Creative Expression theme, Big Brother tasked the housemates with exploring careers in the arts: painting, fashion, pottery, music, dance, spoken word, and more. Divided into two teams, Faith suggested collaboration – even if they lost, it was their final task, and provisions were sufficient. Zita initially objected, but ultimately the house voted in favour. Thursday brought tension when Faith asked Koyin, Mensan, and Mide to lower their volume, only to be ignored. He joined in the noise, escalating matters until Mide exclaimed, “This is Big Brother’s house.”

Faith, feeling underappreciated, declared himself the foundation of the house and tore up the wager script. The house, ever resilient, insisted they could win without him. By Friday, Kaybobo was seen piecing together the shredded papers, but ultimately, the house emerged victorious in their final wager. Faith, Koyin, Imisi, and Jason Jae were awarded flowers for their outstanding contributions in previous tasks.

The wager victory followed a lit Thursday Night Pool Party, which came in the wake of a heated clash between Zita and Rooboy. The tension originated during a sponsored task where blindfolded players followed teammate instructions, only to face sabotage from their own teams. Zita was particularly frustrated with Rooboy for repeating the very action he disliked when it happened to his own team. After the task, a messy exchange involving thrown noodles and cutlery led to a double strike for Zita. Peace was restored when the pair discussed the incident, and Rooboy forgave her.

That same Thursday, a minor squabble arose between Imisi and Kola. Kola, intending to compliment Imisi by saying she was safe from eviction, provoked her instead. Imisi admonished him, warning that his well-meaning comment could land her in trouble. Kola, in turn, resented being shouted at, marking yet another example of the house’s delicate dynamics.

Faith, meanwhile, remained mute following Thursday’s confrontation, speaking only during the sponsored task (when required). Saturday morning saw him silently clash over cleaning duties, with Sultana assigning him the bathroom as a subtle rebuke for his silence. He initially refused, offering only a smile and a middle finger, but was later seen cleaning the showers after a Diary Room intervention. His silent protest coincided with a minor food heist in the HoH condo, where Sultana appropriated some of his meal.

Eggs, too, remain at the centre of intrigue. Jason Jae recently lost his, named Hannah, prompting Isabella to caution, “Never lose guard your children.” The question now looms: who took Hannah? One can only wait with bated breath, for in Big Brother’s house, the next twist is always just around the corner.
