Tonight, the housemates will finally present the Nigerian Alice in Wonderland adaptation they have been preparing for Biggie.
But before the wager takes centre stage, the morning comes with its own drama as Oyin confronts Yusuf over comments she feels painted her interaction with Tram in the wrong light. On the other hand, Bells and Yusuf continue navigating the cracks in YuBells.
Here’s how Day 53 is playing out.
8:00 am: Wager rehearsals begin
The housemates returned from their morning workout and HoH Barry called everyone to the lounge for wager rehearsals.
While waiting for the others to assemble, Barry played around with the pool table balls as someone blew a trumpet in the lounge. In the kitchen, Tram joked with Bells that Ebuka would probably bring up the house drama during Sunday’s Live Show, leaving her laughing.
Rehearsals soon began, with Yusuf positioning Barry, Chimsom Chuka, Flora, Keivo, Oyin and Tram for scenes one to three. After the run through, Yusuf and Chimsom Chuka discussed costumes.
Later, Flora told Oyin that Yusuf had commented on her getting water for Tram in a way that suggested she was “slaving” for him.
Oyin immediately took offence and asked why Flora had not challenged the comment. Yusuf was then called over to explain what he meant, with Tram also brought into the conversation.
9:00 am: Oyin clears Yusuf as Bells tries to fix things with him
Yusuf explained that seeing Oyin get water for Tram had surprised him and felt strange.
Oyin and Tram both said they did not remember the moment the same way. Oyin became upset, saying Yusuf’s version made it sound as though Tram had commanded her and she simply obeyed.
Ricky joined the discussion and gave his own account, but Oyin insisted people were trying to instigate something and read meaning into an interaction that meant nothing.
She also pointed out that Yusuf gives Bells instructions at times, which he denied, before telling everyone to mind their business.
Bells and Yusuf continued dealing with their own tension.
Bells told Yusuf that whenever he is speaking with other housemates and her name comes up, he should make it clear they are no longer together and leave her out of the conversation.
Later in the closet, however, Bells softened her stance. She admitted she still likes Yusuf and said she did not want the other housemates to get the satisfaction of seeing that they were not on good terms. Yusuf calmly agreed.
The earlier argument was not completely over either. While Ricky ate breakfast at the dining table, Oyin continued confronting him about his role in the conversation.
Ricky warned that the house would not contain everyone if things kept escalating, but Oyin fired back, accusing him of being all talk despite constantly claiming he would bring drama. She then walked away.
10:00 am: Bells and Yusuf set boundaries after their breakup
Bells and Yusuf sat down in the bedroom to discuss how they would relate with each other now that they are no longer together.
Bells said she was not trying to make him uncomfortable and asked him to speak up if something bothered him. Yusuf, however, felt she pays too much attention to what other people think or say, while Bells admitted she no longer fully trusts what comes out of his mouth.
Yusuf said they are no longer exclusive, so they do not have to cater to each other’s feelings, though he insisted he would always be good with her.
Bells said Yusuf had made things awkward, pointing to moments like him joking with Oyin and calling her his wife. Yusuf also raised things Bells does that make him uncomfortable.
He maintained that he was fine with the situation, but Bells disagreed, saying it was strange that he had already told Ricky they were done. Yusuf explained that he only said it because he felt Bells would still try to make the relationship work.
The conversation also touched on the wager, with Yusuf saying Bells had been particularly difficult this week. Bells agreed, saying that she has always been difficult during wager preparations.
11:00 am: Bells opens up to Yusuf
Bells and Yusuf continued their conversation in the Orange Room. Yusuf said he noticed Bells had been crying after her diary session the previous day.
Bells explained that Biggie had asked her questions about Abi, which made her realise how much she misses her and left her emotional afterward.
In the kitchen, Bluethopia, Flora and Sheba reminisced about Mercedes and her signature dance moves, while Ricky listened in. Sheba talked about Biggie bringing Mercedes back for a party somehow, and Bluethopia imagined her dancing from behind a glass partition. Flora also remembered how active Mercedes was during gym sessions.
Chimsom Chuka later joined them, with Sheba hyping his outfit from head to toe. He then started massaging Bluethopia’s leg, prompting her to ask about whether he had paid for a pedicure or spa session.
The conversation then shifted to Keivo’s missing 14K BB Bucks.
12:00 pm: Save decisions, Pool Party plans and Temi Nkem’s BB Bucks hunt
Barry served food to Chimsom Chuka, Flora and some other housemates.
Chimsom Chuka brought up Barry’s decision to save Aikou, telling him he should not apologise for making the choice he felt was right. Barry added that Bluethopia has barely spoken to him since then.
Upstairs, Yusuf told Bells that the thought of leaving the house has never really crossed his mind, and Bells said she felt the same. She complimented his teeth, prompting Yusuf to remember that Neche also had nice teeth.
At the dining table, Aikou, Barry, Chimsom Chuka and Ricky talked about the upcoming Pool Party. Ricky declared that he planned to turn up and become the “pool party master.”
Aikou then recalled one of his experiences with alcohol, saying he once got so high that it felt like his legs would not move, leaving Chimsom Chuka and Ricky laughing.
Upstairs, Temi Nkem appeared to be on another BB Bucks mission.
In the closet area, she repeatedly tried to open a suitcase while looking around and reciting what seemed to be a code. After several failed attempts, she asks herself how much she has and says "20K and I need 22.” She then spoke into her microphone and asked Biggie to call her into the diary room before muttering to herself that the heist must continue.
Oyin sat with Chimsom Chuka, Barry and Aikou, but the conversation quickly became a back and forth between her and Chimsom Chuka over expectations, money and responsibilities in relationships.
They disagreed on several points, and Chimsom Chuka eventually got up and walked to the kitchen. Oyin complained that he always does the same thing, saying he gives his analysis and then exits the conversation once he is done.
1:00 pm: Ricky worries about his exit photo
Ricky spoke into his microphone and asked Biggie to please change the picture that might be used for him on the photo wall after he leaves. He said he saw the image used during the Pepsi task and was not impressed, saying that he hoped Biggie was not planning to use that one.
In the lounge, Keivo ate lunch while Temi Nkem watched him. She pulled a face, prompting Keivo to ask what was wrong. Temi Nkem said she does not like being watched while eating, but Keivo seemed unbothered.
Barry later joined them, and Temi Nkem asked about the wager costumes. Barry assured her they were sorted. She then asked Barry how he was finding life as HoH. Barry said it was stressful because some housemates did not want to do anything. He joked that now he has immunity, they are about to see his true colours.
Temi Nkem then switched into campaign mode, asking both Barry and Keivo to give her five points in this week’s MIPOW voting.
2:00 pm: Final wager rehearsal underway
The housemates are in the Arena for their final wager rehearsal, running through the play, tightening their performances and ironing out the last few details before the presentation.
3:00 pm: Eviction thoughts, task reflections and more YuBells Gist
Back in the house after wager rehearsal, Chimsom Chuka and Temi Nkem chatted about old cultural music before the conversation shifted to sleep.
Temi Nkem asked if Chimsom Chuka was tired, and he explained that he tends to sleep more when he is sick. When she suggested he go and rest, he said that she was the last person who should criticise his sleeping habits because she can sleep anywhere and anytime. Temi Nkem quickly defended herself and nominated Barry instead.
Later, Chimsom Chuka and Sheba reflected on how long they have been in the house and whether they have done enough with their journey so far.
They revisited some of the tasks they have taken part in and how many they have won. Chimsom Chuka admitted he feels he may be going home this Sunday.
Sheba said one of her fears is leaving before the person who once called her desperate, adding that it would feel like a slap to all the effort she has put into the game.
Upstairs in the bedroom, the distance between Bells and Yusuf appeared to be closing again as they continued chatting in the bedroom.
Bells said she does not want to drink alcohol again in the house, while Yusuf teased her about stealing bottles. The conversation then moved to her snoring, with Yusuf threatening to post any videos he finds of her snoring once he leaves the house.
He claimed Bells snores the most, but she immediately defended herself by saying he clearly has not heard Keivo.
