With a career that started in 2008 and inspired by his best friend Kayo, Cosmas Chileshe aka Dj Cosmos seemed to hit the big time in that year. A successful career as a radio dj and host already in the bag, plus a monster hit Nalelo Bwacha tearing up the airways and TV music channels across the southern hemisphere, there was only one way for the dancehall maverick, and that is…Up!

A slew of successful singles and music videos which culminated in 2 album releases before 2013, one of DJ Cosmos’ big breaks came in 2014 where he was invited to Johannesburg to perform at the Africa Movie Academy Awards nominations party. Such is the international footprint the dancehall magician had carved out for himself; and when hits like “Wine ya body”  and “Pro-Twerker” dropped in 2015, he had cemented his place as a force to be reckoned with.

2016 saw the dancehall magician drop his second album “Thee Statement” which had already garnered a lot of local and international acclaim from the successful releases of the singles in the previous year.

On Zed Top 10 this week, K'Chinga chats to the Dancehall Magician about his music, attaining international acclaim, and what future projects to look out for.
