OneZed DStv Channel 172 and GOtv Channel 8 has been continuously serving us authentic African stories and this month promises to be filled with shows that celebrate our heritage.

When asked about “African-ness”, one of the first things that pop up in our minds is Ubuntu. Ubuntu returned with Season 2 and saw Queen Thandiwena going after her place on the throne. This May, secrets continue to be uncovered while many are in pursuit of their royal rights. The proverb-filled drama airs every Monday to Wednesday at 21:30hrs right after we catch up on the trouble on Nguzu’s farm in Mpali. What a perfect way to wrap up long, busy days with great local entertainment!

The month of May just got better with Rex, Bana Mumbi and Belinda returning with Season 3 of Shi Mumbi. Join the trio as they battle through their long-standing entanglement. You don’t want to miss out on this comedy that’s making a mark on this region of the African continent. Make sure you tune in every Thursday at 21:30hrs to catch up on the latest tea on Rex’s love life. To whet your appetite: Rex has officially moved in with Belinda and Bana Mumbi is clueless about this. She has been wondering where her husband is, and more importantly, where her box full of money is!

Speaking of laughter, Landlady Meets Landlord is back with Season 4 of the funnies, surprises and more lessons on how to deal with your beloved tenants. In Lizzie’s absence while she is in police custody, the household begins to starve and Zelipa comes to the rescue! Muzo takes the opportunity to propose to Malingose, who seems to be uninterested in the trying young man. Does he stand a chance to win this girl’s heart? Will the compound stay intact while Laban the supposed landlord gobbles food in his tenant’s houses? Make sure you keep up with the comedy on the compound every Friday at 20:30hrs.

Make sure you stay plugged into an awesome selection of African entertainment, right here on OneZed DStv Channel 172 and GOtv Channel 8.
