This young man was christened Wilson Ngoma, but most people will remember him by his moniker Willz aka Mr Nyopole. Born in the central province of Zambia, Wilson is the 5th of 6 siblings who has risen beyond his humble background and elevated himself to a status of being referred to as one of the bright lights flying the Zambian Entertainment flag on a continental scale.
The versatile singer, song-writer, hip hop and dance hall crooner has put so much into his craft that has made him very hard to ignore. In 2015, he won a slew of awards, most notably the best new artiste award and best upcoming act at the Mosi Zambia Music Awards.
Singing in his native Chewa dialect, he was once quoted as saying “I have always loved music and I enjoy singing in my mother tongue which is Chewa. It makes me unique and stand out”.
Armed with a body of work that would make any one to take note (assuming you have been living under a rock and don’t know who he is), Mr Nyopole is working his way to taking the throne as the king of hip-hop in Zambia.
