Independence Day

October 24th isn’t just a public holiday. It’s a celebration of freedom, pride, and unity! To mark this special day, we asked some of your favourite Mpali and Inkondo characters what Independence means to them. Let’s just say… the answers were as unique as the characters themselves!

Nguzu (Mpali):
"A man must stand tall like a baobab. Independence is not only about freedom from others – it’s about mastering yourself, your family, and your farm!"

Zuze (Mpali):
"Independence Day means I can drink freely… I mean, celebrate freely! Viva Zambia, my people!" 🍻😂

Monde (Mpali):
"Independence means peace at home. If only some people could stop bringing their drunk cousins to the farm!" (We see you, Zuze 👀)

Mazoka (Inkondo):
"Independence is strength. Even when rivals rise, a true leader never bows. Long live the spirit of Zambia!" 💪🏽

Kasuwa (Inkondo):
"Freedom means wearing my best chitenge, dancing to my own drum, and reminding everyone that I am that woman!" 💃🏽🇿🇲

Lillian (Inkondo):
"It’s about independence in love and business – never let anyone tell you what you can’t do!" 💼❤️

Frank (Mpali):
"As we celebrate our country, remember: even a man with mistakes can rise again. That’s true independence!" 🙌🏾

Dimuna (Inkondo):
"For me, it’s simple – independence is fighting for love, no matter what stands in your way." ❤️🔥

Nampindi (Inkondo):
"To all my sisters – may we find strength in freedom and courage in love. Happy Independence, Zambia!" 🌺

Hambe (Mpali):
"Independence means I can finally say what I want without being told I talk too much… wait, can I?" 😂

From deep reflections to comic confessions, our beloved Zambezi Magic characters remind us that freedom takes many forms – laughter included.
Happy Independence Day, Zambia!
