A lot of people dream of making it big in the entertainment industry. However, not everybody gets a chance to make that dream a reality. Fortunately for Agnes Akite, a life in the limelight became possible after she pursued her love for comedy.

The Mizigo Express star has worked very hard to make her mark in show business. In an interview with the Daily Monitor, a Ugandan newspaper, she revealed: “For years, nobody knew me. I told myself I had to work so hard that people can recognise me." Her hard work paid off and she’s now made a name for herself not only as an actress, but also as a stand-up comedian.

She entered the world of stand-up comedy after Ugandan media personality, Anne Kansiime convinced her to give it a shot. Since making her debut, Agnes has appeared on several local productions including Pearl Magic’s hit shows: The Hostel and Girl from Mparo.

Despite her success, the Bachelor of Tourism graduate still gets nervous before going on stage. She told the publication  that she prays before her shows. “I do not want to talk to anyone and I keep breathing in an out. I am always nervous. It helps because I was told that the day I stop getting nervous, my career would be doomed."
