The Janzi awards were held over the weekend, honouring all creatives in the Ugandan entertainment space.

Taking to Twitter to thank his fans, Mushema wrote, "Hard work and trust in God. Special thanks to everyone who nominated and voted for me in the @JanziAwards. I can’t thank you enough, it’s you the fans of what we do that make us. We brought the award home, this is just the beginning of a new race."

Mushema is currently playing the role of Patrick on Pearl Magic Prime's daily telenovela, Sanyu.
