It was a night to remember as The River once again went into this year’s SAFTAs guns blazing. They went in with 12 nominations and came out with an incredible six awards in some big categories including Best Achievement in Scriptwriting, Best Actress Telenovela, Best Achievement in Editing and more.
For the second year in a row, the talented Sindi Dlathu came out on top and walked away with the grand Best Actress in a Telenovela award, much to the audience’s approval. Many people were rooting for her to win again this year as they believed if it wasn’t her, they simply couldn’t see who else could win.
Another big win for The River was Meshack Mavuso Magabane winning the Best Supporting Actor in a Telenovela award for his role as “Nsizwa” which touched so many people’s hearts and left the audience in awe of his talent. This was also a no brainer for many.
