The show that took us through Bow’s childhood and all the challenges that she went through with her family is now coming to an end.
The family comedy Mixed-ish starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tika Sumpter, Christina Anthony, Arica Himmel, Ethan William Childress, Mykal-Michelle Harris, Gary Cole, and Tracee Ellis Ross (narrator) is a spin-off of Black-ish focusing on recounting Rainbow “Bow” Johnson’s experiences of growing up in a mixed-race family in the 1980s and going through tough times of whether to try and constantly fit in or strive to stay true to themselves.
According to reports on Deadline, the news come as no big shock as the show found itself with soft ratings, ranking among the least-watched ABC series. The show averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.93 million viewers compared to season one, that’s down by 40% in the demo and down by 36% in viewership.
The series is produced by ABC Signature, part of Disney Television Studios.
We will surely miss watching our favourite family but season two of Mixed-ish is still airing on #1Magic so be sure to tune in every Friday at 18:30 and livestream on the DStv App!
