Mam'Gumede promises to find a way to help her son out of this mess and begs him not to lose hope. After she leaves the detective urges Msizi to confess so that her mother can be ok. Msizi says he is innocent but the detective presses him and says that such cases can go on for a long time and the financial implications this will have on his mum will be dire. Mam'Gumede returns to the police station but before she can finish telling the detective the good news of finding a better lawyer, he informs her that Msizi has confessed to the crime that he is accused of.
