For All American lead actor Daniel Ezra, life has changed quite drastically since the growth in popularity of The CW’s hit drama series.
Although not his first production, Ezra told E! News that he first realized that his fan base had grown when he tried walking alone to Target. “I tried to walk down Times Square to go to Target because I had forgotten my earphones, and that was crazy!”
All American follows the story of Spencer (played by Daniel Ezra), a high school footballer, as he constantly has to choose between two worlds: life in Crenshaw South where he grew up and that in Beverly Hills where his football career is growing.
Before Ezra landed his role in a high school production, he played basketball and career, although he thought he would follow a career in physiotherapy. However, theatre came knocking on his door, very unexpectedly. “A drama teacher put me on stage very reluctantly. It was the most fun I had in school, so I decided to take drama that year.”
For Taye Diggs who has been in the limelight for years now, nothing much has changed. However, the American actor expressed how he noticed more people had started coming up to him to talk about the show.
In Season 2 of All American, Spencer is caught up in the middle of making a very big decision – whether to stay in Beverly Hills High where he just led his team to victory during the championships or to follow in his father’s footsteps he has become the head coach at South Crenshaw.
All American Season 2 airs Tuesdays at 21:30.
