Five favourite outfits from Black Panther SA Premiere

19 February 2018
These ladies didn't come to play! Edges were definitively snatched!

If you haven't seen Black Panther yet, what are you waiting for?

This past Friday stars and fans alike convened at cinemas across the globe to witness the spectacle that was the Black Panther premiere. As expected people pulled out all the stops to showcase their love and appreciation for the tale set in the mythical Wakanda. South Africa was part and privy to the festivities and of course our stars went all out!

Not only was the vibe electric, the outfits were nothing short of amazing with everyone going above and beyond to channel their inner ubuntu. Take a look at five of our favourite fits from the premiere:

Thembisa Mdoda

Mama don't play no games and the Black Panther premiere was no different. The entertainment star all but shut down the blue carpet as she once again showcased her ability blow everyone else out the water with her effortless style.

Babes Wodumo

Oh my gosh, oh my word! Babes Wodumo certianly made the pots go kikiriki-ki with her Mxolisi Luke designed regal number. This, ladies and gentlemen, is why Babes is a national key point!

Masechaba Ndlovu

A burst of color and a marriage of Ndebele patterns with Ankara print made Masechaba's dress a marvel to behold. Plus she went all out with the accessories, reminding as she's royalty in her own right!

Dr John Kani

Not only is he a star in the movie, he was a star on the blue carpet as he adorned regal traditional attire that secretly made us wish Wakanda wasn't fictional so he could truly be our king. One day is one day *crosses fingers*

Shalima Mkongi

Sometimes you just need to remind the people that you're ready to pick up an AK and start a revolution. And that's exactly what actress Shalima did with her interpretation of the movie with an outfit that paid homage to the other Black Panthers, the civil rights activists of yesteryear.
