Mzansi Wethu viewers can look forward to an exclusive new reality series when Mntase premieres on the small screen in the new year. The emotional show stages interventions for siblings whose volatile – and sometimes violent – relationships have ripped their families apart.

Mntase is part of the impressive selection of topical, informative and infortainment shows that will define weekend viewing on Mzansi Wethu – Ubizo and I Blew It also make their return in the new year in brand new time slots, and Wethu viewers will also be treated to Our Perfect Wedding season 9. From 8 January, OPW season 9 will be broadcast at 19h00, Ubizo will return for season 3 at 20h00, followed by I Blew It, which is back for season 4 at 20h30, in an entertaining Saturday night line-up.

The emotional and enlightening Ubizo sees the return of medium, Lloyd Radebe, who continues his quest to help individuals and families find clarity, guidance and healing as they navigate their spiritual plights and journeys. He serves as a bridge between the spirit world and the physical, living out his calling by helping others accept theirs.

Moving from psychic matters to matters of money, the hugely popular I Blew It is back with another round of real stories about people who came into and very quickly lost their  fortunes. In the new season, we meet a man who became a multimillionaire, twice and lost it all; a musician who performed on Broadway and squandered their millions after returning to South Africa; and a boxing champion who lost tens of millions of Rands due to bad decisions and a nasty divorce.

Hosted by life coach, author, radio host and businesswoman Lungi Magwaza, Mntase will lead Saturday nights on Mzansi Wethu from 15 January. Season 1 features the real-life stories of siblings (blood-related or chosen family) whose feuds have left their families to stage an intervention as a last resort. The show is gritty, hard-hitting and is sure to strike a chord in viewers.

“We’re excited to start the new year not only with programming our viewers love, but with new shows and a revamped Saturday night schedule. As a channel, we are proud to keep producing content that is relatable for our viewers. Saturday nights are hugely popular times for viewers to tune in, and we are excited to bring something to them that will shake things up and continue to capture the attention of our audiences,” says Shirley Adonisi, Newly appointed Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

“We have added a new slot of exclusive content for the DStv Access viewers, and our shows go beyond entertainment – they have a lot of heart and they deftly handle heavy and pertinant topics,” she concludes.
