We now know where the danger is – Idols SA

After an epic series of auditions, it all comes down to the real work, Theatre Week; or as some of the hopefuls have come to call it, Hectic Week!
Idols SA contestant reacts to being sent home after Theatre Week audition

heatre Week has been packed with surprising twists and turns, and the game is officially on! The pace has changed, and the real work has begun. Moments after their arrival, Idols SA hopefuls were already in the thick of it with their verse and line chorus.

While some panicked at the limited song choices, others embraced the possibility of showcasing versatility in their vocal range. New and returning Idols SA hopefuls scattered across the studio, kicking off rehearsals to impress the judges and secure their spot this week. We get it – the pressure is on; and knowing where they are, Theatre Week is the make-or-break phase. Anything is possible. Whew, now you know where the danger is! 😅 Going so far as to use a storeroom or stairway as a rehearsal room, the contestants hunted for ways to make the most of their time under this immense pressure.

Although these performances are unpredictable, Dudlu set the bar higher than we anticipated with her rendition of Nathi’s hit ‘Noba Ngumama’. As the first performer, she may have pulled at the heartstrings of many viewers and the judges. However, her fate remains unknown for now. Given the limited time they had to rehearse their covers, the jury is still out on who will survive this coming week.

Nene and Bonga fumbled their way through their first performance, prompting the judges to send them packing on the first day of Theatre Week. While they both impressed the judges during the auditions phase, Theatre Week is a different ball game. It’s all about levelling up and going all out. Following every performance, contestants were assigned to one of three rooms where they would await feedback from the judges about who is moving on and who is being sent home. For now, they can count all their lucky stars for not being sent home immediately.

We know we aren’t the only ones anxiously waiting to hear the fate of those three rooms – who will make it and whose dreams will be short-lived? Either way, our interest is piqued, and we can’t wait to see who will survive this week and what everyone will get up to next. In the meantime, we want to know your predictions for this coming week.😉
