Tumi (37) and Pitso Motau’s (50) woke up one morning in 2013 and went to work as usual, not knowing that that day would be the beginning of their forever.

Fate had it that the two worked together on something that day, and they ended up exchanging contact details. They contacted each other and set up a date. “I felt something in my heart,” said Pitso, as he recalled of how he felt the first time he saw Tumi.

Being the sweetheart Pitso is, he arranged for a vacation in Cape Town so they could spend quality time together. Tumi admits that that’s where their love blossomed.

When they returned from Cape Town, he asked her to move in with him. She moved in six months after they met. Tumi had been renting a flat elsewhere before moving in with him.

Challenges:

They both have children outside of the relationship and it took a while for their children to get used to the idea of them dating.  

Pitso said there’s not a moment that goes by without him thinking about Tumi. “We are only apart when we go to work. Then when we come back home in the evening, we fall in love all over again,” he said.
