It’s called Hell Week for a reason.

This past weekend we entered the final stage of auditions, a stage many hopefuls dread but simultaneously want to be a part of, Theatre Week. Known as Hell Week because of the pressure, anxiety, and stress it comes with, this latest iteration of the gruelling week didn’t disappoint as it was accompanied by uncertainty but made better because of the bucket loads of talent it came with.

Before we dive in

One matter had to be handled first and that was the last round of auditions. The judges still had the big responsibility of going through some hopefuls that needed to give it one last shot.

Princess, Bianca, and Niki were up there on viewers’ lists as they stanned their auditions very hard.

Lights, camera, action!

It was time to show up and show off in every way possible. Knowing that they wouldn’t get a second chance heightened the stakes for all the contestants but they were not willing to let it catch them unprepared.

You know the drill: the songs were in place, the judges ready to make dreams come true, and luckily, some early favourites kept the momentum going and served fire performances.

Biggest heartbreak

It wasn’t a good day to be Samke because what started off so well, ended up being the end of the road for her on this short ride. One could put it down to her nerves – we were right there with her when she became so nervous she needed a glass of water – or it was simply a matter of being too emotional, to the point of forgetting her lyrics?

Either way, Samke was a favourite and being sent home broke many hearts. It further proved just how quickly it can end during Theatre Week.

Despite how brutal this part of the competition is, it sets the tone for the greatness that’s to come and best believe, we are excited!
