Pandemic or not, our host ProVerb has been staying typically busy since the last season of Idols SA.
The Verb on the street – Idols SA

Due to COVID-19 and lockdown restrictions in South-Ah, there hasn’t been much action on the actual streets, but that hasn’t stopped our golden boy ProVerb from understanding the assignment by keeping his name on everybody’s lips.

Known for wearing many hats, fashionably and professionally, ProVerb seems to have a ‘can’t stop won’t stop’ mentality; veteran hip-hop artist, doting father, author of ‘The Book Of ProVerb’, host with the most, co-owner of a production company… [take a breath]... Board member, entrepreneur, ambassador, a scholar and a gentleman – he’s doing it all!

Let’s dive into almost each thing he’s busy with shall we? ‘The Book Of ProVerb’; a memoir released in 2020, post a successful season 16 of Idols SA. It focuses on his beloved family, the phases of his life and vulnerable sharing points about his hardships with mental health and marital life.

Host with the most! While Idols SA remains his most favourite hosting job (wink wink), he’s currently busy with the debut of his new show called, ‘The Property Game’ which is set to premiere on the 4th of August 2021.

Entrepreneur and ambassador; you may not know this but outside of playing a charming and witty host on Idols SA, he’s also co-producer on the show! The production of the show is channelled through SIC Productions which he is co-owner of. While juggling all of this and more, he’s still making time to enrich the minds of the younger generation joining forces with Cadbury for their #TheresAStoryinEveryone initiative last year and Literacy4Life recently.

Board member, scholar (and a gentleman); ProVerb is working behind the scenes as a newly elected board member at SAMRO in which he is hoping to, “make a valuable contribution and hopefully affect some positive change to an industry in which my own career is built”.

In this role, he has hopes of empowering creatives and to bring about more exposure to what the organisation does. He's also been empowering himself by working towards obtaining his BBA from Regenesys Business School and gaining a Tax Law certificate from UCT.

The gentleman part of things shines through all the work he does and the love his children have for him. It’s clear to see why his ambition, attitude and warm demeanor have made him such a pleasure to work with and for.

Season 17 of Idols SA broadcasts on Sundays at 17:30 on Mzansi Magic Channel 161 and 17:00 from the live shows.
