While Tasnim (48) and Brandan (49) Norris were friends on Facebook for a while, they had never reached out or had a conversation except for likes on photos.

How they met:

They started chatting in February 2018. “Initially, I liked her photos and when we finally started talking, I was just checking her out, trying to figure her out,” said Brandan.

In April that year, they arranged that he visits her. “He had a beautiful bunch of flowers and a gift for me,” she said. Elaborating she said they then attended a braai at his relatives’ house and that’s where he introduced her to his brother and sister.

Challenges:

She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016. “I had just finalized my divorce with my previous partner. It was a tough journey. It was 18 months of chemotherapy and radiation,” she said.

A couple of months later, she met Brandan. “I didn’t actually think I’d find someone who’d love me for me, but I did!” she said.
