News

Not only will we be crowning our Idols SA winner on Sunday, we’re also welcoming guests AKA, Oskido, Costa Titch, Berry, D’Banj and more!

AKA needs little introduction. He’s “also known as” one of the hugest hip-hop stars in Mzansi and has been for the last decade-plus. Known for hits like ‘Fela in Versace’, ‘All Eyes On Me’, ‘Baddest’ and countless others, he’s also a prolific and potent live performer. Lucky for us, the Idols SA audience.

Oskido too needs no intro. As head honcho at Kalawa Jazmee Records, he’s had a helping hand in the birth of kwaito, deep SA house and amapiano, plus the careers of Black Motion, DJ Zinhle and now, our Idols finalists! A terrific DJ, producer and spokesperson for Mzansi music, we can’t wait to see and hear what he brings to the show.

From the old school to the new – and from Nelspruit, no less – Costa Titch is a rapper and songwriter who’s really starting to shine. A former dancer, he’s scored hits with tracks like ‘Nkalakatha’ and ‘Activate’ and collaborated with big hitters like Boity and Cassper Nyovest.

Berry. Last season’s Idols SA winner, and a hit-maker with ‘Ungowami’. We can’t wait to have her back!

Finally, we’re joined by a Nigerian legend, D’banj. Singer, rapper, co-founder of the iconic Mo’ Hits label, multiple award-winner and electrifying performer, he is, of course, best known for his mega-hit ‘Oliver Twist’, which topped African charts and even cracked the UK top 10. We’re honoured to have him!

Then, performances from our judges (prepare for surprises!) and hang about was we announce our season 18 winner …

Catch the Idols SA contestants live on Mzansi Magic at 17:00 on Sundays. Follow the action on FacebookTwitter,  Instagram and TikTok using #IdolsSA.
