Our nine choirmasters and their choirs finally took to the stage to perform and they left no crumbs. The opening act of the evening was a surprise performance by our choirmasters and Clash of the Choirs SA members joining in song and dance as they performed 'iMpumelelo'.
They harmonised and blew Mzansi away with the beautiful renditions and vocals. With a fusion of multiple genres from gospel, amapiano, kwaito and hip-hop, they proved they were ready for the win.
When the hosts took to the stage to announce that all choirs were safe and no eliminations would take place, the choirmasters and their choirs rejoiced.
However that joy was short lived when judge Zwai Bala told them that instead, they would have to eliminate two members from each choir. To Mzansi's horror, the choirmasters would have to make the final call on which two would leave.
In an emotional and heart-breaking scene, choirmasters were seen consoling choir members who were clearly distraught by the news. Mzansi couldn't believe the plot twist and had some very emotional reactions to this surprise eliminations too.
