As long as the dialogue is beautifully delivered and quotable, the show's legacy will continue even long after it has ended.

Whether hair-raising, heart-wrenching, or humorous, in the jaw-dropping series Shaka iLembe, the cast has delivered many quotable lines. Let's look at some that stood out the most.

“Abadliwe amanqe!” King Jobe

After being fed lies, King Jobe (Hamilton Dhlamini) commands his most loyal warrior, Ngomane (Mondli Makhoba), to kill all his sons, sparing only the manipulative Mawewe (Wanda Zuma). Abadliwe amanqe means “kill them all”.

“Iso ngeso."King Zwide

In a fight with Senzangakhona (Senzo Radebe) and his men, one of King Zwide’s (Wiseman Mncube) hordes is killed, and this act kindles an inferno of revenge. Angrily, Zwide utters iso ngeso, which means “an eye for an eye”, referring to the idea that one should be penalised according to how they have offended.

“Angilona imbuka." – Godongwana now Dingiswayo

Dingiswayo (Thembinkosi Mthembu) said these words to his father, King Jobe, to clear his name after being accused of plotting to dethrone him. Dingiswayo once again utters the exact words to the king of amaHlubi,  Bhungane (Sjava).  Angilona imbuka means “I am no traitor”.

"Ungangiibulali." – Goloza

These heartbreaking words were spoken by Queen Ntombazi’s (Khabonina Qubeka) forsaken son, Goloza (Calvin Ratladi), to his brother Zwide. Goloza was pleading with Zwide not to kill him.
