Boohle is the madam of the moment on the Mzansi music scene and she’s making big strides in the amapiano scene. Growing up in Vosloorus, she was schooled by gospel singers like Ntokozo Mbambo and eventually made the Tshwane Gospel Choir in 2017. Since then she’s exploded, whether solo on a track like ‘Mama’, or her multiple collabs with Cassper Nyovest, or her work with Ntokzin, Loxion Deep, Zulu Mkhatini & the Mahotella Queens and many, many more!

On Sunday she’ll be performing ‘Amawaza’ off her new EP ‘Sfikile’, a track she created alongside Busta929 and the late Mpura.

If Boohle is the hot young thing, Makhadzi is the grand dame! Aged just 25, she has a sprawling catalogue behind her, but she’s still causing a stir in the charts with her new release, the aptly titled ‘African Queen’, which is all over the charts and airwaves right now.

Preceded by singles ‘Mjolo’ with Mlindo The Vocalist and ‘Ghanama’ with Prince Benza (the track she’ll be performing on Sunday), the album also features collaborations with Cassper Nyovest, Kabza De Small and recent Idols SA guest judge Lady Du!

Her performance on Idols SA last season brought the house down and we can’t wait to welcome her back!

Big Zulu also guested on Idols last season.

A former taxi driver, he was inspired by Isicathamiya and maskandi music growing up, which gives his rap music a rather unique edge. His track ‘Mali Eningi’ with Intaba Yase Dubai and Riky Rick received a South African Music Award for Best Collaboration this year.

On Sunday he’ll be performing ‘Umuzi eSandton’ with Lwah Ndlunkulu.

After toiling for a decade in the music biz, Mthandazo Gatya broke through in 2020 with the massive ‘Senzeni’ featuring DJ Manzo and Comado. He describes his sound as a fusion of maskandi, dance and Afro-pop – and that’s what you’ll get when he performs the gorgeous ‘Uzobizwa’ on Sunday!

Finally, Pabi Cooper is a young singer, dancer, YouTuber and footballer who’s just bought a new car – a Mini Cooper! She exploded with the song she’ll sing on Sunday, ‘Isphithiphithi’ with Reece Madlisa, Busta929 and Joocy, an amapiano smash that’s been streamed more than a million times!
