It’s Richard’s (52) level of trust for us! In fact, he’s #BaeGoals and Lydia (52) considers herself to be the luckiest woman who will get to spend the rest of her life with him.

How they met:

The couple met in March 2011. Lydia was letting out rooms and Richard had accompanied relatives to view the rooms Lydia was letting out. After the viewing, he asked for her number and they started chatting in the evening.

“We called each other the whole night that day. Then asked her out on a date, he said. It’s what happened during the date that Lydia still speaks of today. “We had just met, but he left me with his bank card and PIN to buy food while he attended to a work related issue,” she said, adding that she was shocked at that level of trust.

Lydia said  after some time, they sat down and had a mutual understanding and agreed to give it a try. Three months later, she moved in with Richard. “It’s not easy to get into a relationship with anyone, but it was so easy with him,” she said.

How he proposed:

He bought her an engagement ring on her birthday. Less than two years later, they had a signing ceremony and had a traditional wedding.

Challenges:

Lydia recalled of the time Richard lost his job one time. “We struggled to pay certain bills, but we managed to get through those tough times.”
