It’s Mpho (40) Maleka and his wives Johanna (37) and Julia (37) making isithembu look seamlessly easy!

How they met:

Mpho married his first wife, Johanna 23 years ago and had their traditional wedding in 2017. She admits he once spoke of having more than one wife but didn’t think much of it then. She found out Mpho was dating Julia in 2018.   

“I couldn’t accept it at first because the truth is, no woman wants to share her man,” said Johanna. Julia admits she didn’t know Mpho was a polygamist when she met him. 

“My father had three wives and I was raised by all of them. I grew up having mothers, left and right, so I fell in love with the idea of polygamy. I love both these women with all my heart. They complete me,” Mpho explained.

Challenges:

Johanna recalled of the times when Mpho was still sneaking around with Julia. “His affair with Julia was our biggest challenge because he was philandering,” she said. Julia on the other hand, added that she felt like a queen, not knowing there was another queen before her.

How do they make it work? Johanna said they all complement each other. They always go out together.
