Finally, it was Sihle’s turn. The time had come for the feisty lass from around the way to marry her prince charming. Indeed, in a matter of just moments, she was a member of the royal family as the newest Ndlunkulu.
Many are convinced that money is what Sihle was after. That, and the status that came with the being the chief's wife. While it didn’t hurt that her monetary worth was set to shoot up by a couple of ten million notches, the girl did love Zweli and had stuck by him through a whole bunch of bad times.
Surely she deserved this as much as the next person?
But, now that it was all coming true, now that she was being publicly accepted into the royal family, now that she could be viewed as more than just another servant, was she ready for what came with sitting on that throne?
Qondi, however, is the complete opposite. With no sights sets on the title she was pretty much coerced by a set of lousy circumstances, into the role of queen. But she was reveared and adored by the people of eBhubesini from the beginning. She too, has done well in carrying the power that came with it, mindfully and with grace. Would Sihle do the same?
The people of the valley would never know the amount of turmoil she was suffering because she led empathetically with all the aplomb in the world.
But, it was never her cup of tea and she was ready to hand over the reigns to Sihle. After all the wretched things she and Fezile had been through, she was ready to focus all her energy on him.
There was nothing to celebrate for Qondi after that. Will Fezile come around?
