No one would blame the Idols SA Top 5 if they needed time to fly because the anxiety that comes with the number decreasing to four is about to get real. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of emotions, song choices, deliveries, and most importantly, vocals that stand between them and being South Africa’s next big star.
Performing live at Mosaiek Teatro, the contestants carry the heavy load of making sure they prove even further that they are worthy of making it to the end. If anything, the critique from the audience at this stage of the competition will be what pushes the Top 4 to fight and sing for their lives.
Saturday night will give us life because it is when the hopefuls share the stage with an icon.
American R&B singer PJ Morton, the man behind a few timeless classics, is the icon in question. He has reached milestones in the industry, performed on big stages and written for talented singers. Now we have the honour of experiencing his magic on the Idols SA stage.
But there’s more. We know all about his hits but what does he listen to when it’s time to relax? We get the opportunity to find out because the Top 4 will be diving in to his favourite playlist.
The judges will have a lot on their hands with giving feedback on two performances each. It will require JR, Thembi, and Somizi to squint harder and put on their headphones so tight that they don’t miss a beat.
