Imagine sharing the same wedding date as your older sister? Shuu, that’s Lydia (65 years) and Victor (67 years) Moshoeshoe’s story.
Their children, Jackie, Mpho, Dimpho, Lebohang and Relebogile wanted to do something special for their 40th wedding anniversary, so they wrote to #OurPerfectWedding’s Gift of Love.
Lydia and Victor met way back in the 1970s. “My dad was a security officer in the mines and my mom would pass him at the gate every day. My dad was taken by her beauty,” said Lebohang.
Relebogile added that their grandparents were super excited when they heard their parents were expecting the first set of twins, Mpho and Dimpho. “Lebohang and I are also twins, the youngest in the family,” she added.
Jackie said what inspires him about their parent’s relationship is their commitment to each other. “Even in the face of what seems to be uncountable challenges, the couple works together,” he said adding that this is very rare nowadays.
Elaborating about their parent’s characters, Relebogile said their mom is a Libra, she tells it like it is. “Dad is the opposite. He’s very calm and maybe that’s how they make it work,” she said.
Lydia and Victor didn’t have a white wedding. “They had to share the same gifting ceremony with mom’s elder sister and her husband and mom wasn’t too pleased about this,” said Relebogile.
Tonight, the couple have their very own special ceremony and they invite you to join their close friends and family, as they renew their vows.
