GCINA 'WEST 'NKABINDE – The Queen

News
15 April 2020
There's a new queen in town!

Gcina

Meet Gcina West Nkabinde, Skhumbuzo’s older sister, mother figure and 'fixer'. Mageba, as he so affectionately calls her.

Gcina West-Nkabinde is Skhumbuzo’s older sister. She’s a powerful business woman and philanthropist who owns a few businesses and runs a few women empowerment programs in Durban. Gcina loves to be married and to play mother. She’s one of those Zulu women who enjoy being called Mrs. She’s been married three times, all her husbands died and she still holds each of them dear to her heart – after all, it’s their wealth that has made her so rich.

Queen Matriach

Her inherited wealth is not the only that make her pockets overflow, she's got her secret criminal activity that only a few know about. Thats right, she's a Mafia Matriarch, a a secret gangster as we have discovered that she's just as savage as Harriet Khoza. She's pulled up on Harriet, and even pointed a gun at her during a turf beef over Blue Moon Lounge, and although she took an 'L' - we still think there's more of that fire to come!

She would take a bullet for Skhumbuzo

When their mother died, in her 20s, she vowed to take care of her brother and her siblings. Gcina did anything from selling drugs to money laundering to survive and feed her family. She was arrested once or twice for engaging in illegal activity but nothing stuck. In her old age, she’s had to take things a little slow and focus more on philanthropy but gangs in KZN know better than to cross her as she still has quite a sting. Skhumbuzo has always been her favourite sibling and she is overprotective of him.

Hardcore but make it matter

Gcina West has the best tough love approach, it's no wonder she was the only one who put Khumbuzile in her place for chasing a cheater like Schumacher. She's all about uplliftment and had to remind her only niece that the Zulu name is nothing to take lightly. She’s stern but also sweet and understanding. She is feared and loved by the Zulu family and is the go-to person when they have problems.

She wants more than anything for Skhumbuzo to not pay for Nomzamo's sins and she's willing to do anything to make that happen, we've already seen how resourceful she can be. Will she be able to get her brother out of jail? And will she be able to keep his drug turf safe from Harriet Khoza's claws?
