Last Friday, MultiChoice brought out all the stars for a well-deserved #SAFTA13 Nominees celebration at a swanky rooftop spot in Hyde Park. If you've been living under a rock, you'll be happy to know we received a record number of South African Film and Televison Awards noms this year.

The cocktail party, which was obviously a jol and a half -  brought together the who’s who of the South African television industry. From front-of-camera royalty, to behind-the-scenes magicians who make it all happen, everyone of our talented creatives deservedly had their place in the sun - and by the gorgeous poolside, might we add. Here’s who we spotted!

The River’s Ferry Jele and Gcina Mkhize (Khanyi on Isibaya)

Best Supporting Actress - TV Soap Nominee Gcina Mkhize swapped the doek and overalls for a glamorous cocktail look that made sure to sparkle and shine all night - and we were mesmerised. Between listening to very important channel speeches and bobbing shyly to the music, Gcina got together with fellow #SAFTAs13 Nominee Ferry Jele, for this smiley selfie, which is obviously the perfect salve for this very blue, very prickly Monday.

Pallance Dladla

We all know Pallance Dladla (Best Actor - TV Soap Nominee for Isibaya’s Jabu) is a busy man, but we’re glad our favourite made time to swing by and hang out with fellow thespians at this Nominees party! Pallance dazzled with his confidence and that megawatt smile, but just as we were catching our breath, Best Supporting Actress - TV Soap Nominee Thuli Thabethe (Beauty on Isibaya) and Best Supporting Actor - TV Soap Nominee Abdul Khoza (Qhaphela on Isibaya) walked in like the telenovela superheroes we never knew we needed.

But what makes our Isibaya stars so excellent at what they do? The fact that they are family - and this little tidbit we found on Thuli Thabethe’s Instagram, of course!

To our delight, Presley Chweneyagae, Best Actor - Telenovela also showed up and completely made our day.

Presley has been on a whirlwind press tour since the #SAFTAs13 nominations were revealed because 17 TOTAL Nominations for The River! Naturally.

Siyabonga Radebe

Best Actor - Telenovela Nominee Siyabonga Radebe (Gazini Mbatha in Ring Of Lies), is not just an actor, but a comedian and a voiceover artist. So with that resume, he obviously was one of our favourite people to watch at the event. Here he is having the best time, with The River’s Ferry Jele.

PS - Turns out Siya’s quite the gym boff - and our fave’s not adverse to working hard in the gym, even if "it hurts like hell”!

Warren Masemola

Our Nominees Party wouldn’t have been complete without the appearance of Warren Masemola, Best Supporting Actor - Telenovela, who looked like sunshine after the rain, in yellow.

All our love and respect to this year's SAFTAs 13 Nominees! Who are you rooting for?
