Day 66: Pizza politics – BBMzansi

News
30 March 2022
Religion, politics, pizza – the world is a diverse place.
A pizza being moved into an over.

For their Task today, the Housemates are preparing and cooking their own pizza. We’re a little jealous. In honour of this, we thought we’d just mention a few ways that pizza divides the world.

Thick or thin crust?
This divides foodies. The bonus of a thick crust is that it is more filling, basically giving you better value for money. The downside is that it can be too filling. It can also remain soggy after cooking, having soaked up a bunch of juices from the topics. Fans also prefer the thin crust because it is easier to get it nice and crispy.

What is a valid pizza topping?
Oh, boy – this divides people. The sheer volume of rants about the pros and cons of pineapple on a pizza is mind-boggling. The famous Hawaiian pizza has borne the brunt of this battle, as there are people (who happen to like it) that would argue vociferously that pineapple has no business anywhere on a pizza! The same goes for avocado and banana.

Our thoughts? Eat what you like. It’s your pizza.

Why is pizza so geometrically confusing?
Think about it: you open a square box to take out a round pizza that has been cut into triangular slices. It’s weird. And a mystery.

Eating pizza with a knife and fork
What’s wrong with you? Don’t do that.

The best time to eat pizza
Okay – we’re not taking sides, here, because we don’t know the answer to the question, “when is the best time to scarf down a pizza?” When it comes out of the oven, piping hot? Or the next day, for breakfast? It’s an impossible question, so order two pizzas and have both.

Somehow, the Big Brother Mzansi Finalists have managed to make their pizza without gettting into the type of fights that so often go with the task. Which is surprsiing, really, as they all seem to fight about everything  else.
