Task 1: Traditional dance styles

Music and dance are an integral part of many traditional African societies, and for their first Task, Biggie asked the Housemates to showcase various traditional dance styles.

Housemates had to put on their attires, find a camera in the House and as soon as the music started, they had to show off their traditional dancing skills. The only way to stop dancing, was if the music stopped. This Task was well received by both the Housemates and viewers.

Cheerful smiles could be seen as individuals put on their attires. Let’s just say the vibe in the House was everything during this Task. Terry looked like a kid who had just discovered candy when she got hold of the xibelani which is a traditional skirt worn by Tsonga women. Did we mention that she couldn’t wait to put it on? “I want to buy this for myself but it’s just too expensive” said Terry to her fellow Housemates. All the Housemates looked amazing in their attires.

Immediately when the music took over, the entire House enthusiastically took to the dance floor. Biggie made sure that every South African culture was represented. Nale kept advocating for everyone to just have fun.

Task 2: Diketo

For their second Task, Biggie was feeling nolstagic, so he took the Housemates on a walk down memory lane with a game of diketo. Some of the Housemates grew up playing this game so they had the chance to show off their skills.

For diketo, the Housemates had to pick or scoop up the allocated number of stones. Apart from having a bit of fun, the aim of this game is to develop hand-eye coordination, and is played among all ethnic and race groups in South Africa.

This Task gave Nthabii the opportunity to shine as she showed off her skills. She was praised for how well she played. Even though this game is mainly played by women, the Big Brother Mzansi gents took on the challenge. Gash1 seemed to be having the time of his life as he played on.
