Day 32: Love languages of the Umlilo house – BBMzansi

News13 February 2025
In Biggie's house, love speaks many languages.
A heart

The Umlilo house isn’t just about drama and diary sessions – it’s a whirlwind of love, flirtation, bromances, sisterly bonds, and unexpected connections! Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 has given us everything from sweet nothings to full-blown love triangles, but love in the house isn’t just romantic. Whether it’s the ride-or-die bromances, the sisterly pep talks, or the deep platonic bonds, every housemate has their own way of showing affection. Enter love languages – the secret sauce behind their bonds, banter, and occasional bust-ups!

Words of affirmation

For some housemates, verbal expressions of appreciation are a powerful love language. Whether it’s a compliment, a word of encouragement, or a motivational pep talk, these housemates thrive on positive reinforcement. Take Nate, for example – she told Biggie that words of affirmation is her biggest love language, and we have seen how she uses her voice in the house and how she appreciates conversations.

Abobo, Melino, Siphesihle and Uyanda have been seen strengthening bonds through encouragement. Words have the power to lift spirits and create a sense of belonging in the house.

Quality time

Spending quality time together is another way affection is shown in the Umlilo house. Housemates who value this love language enjoy long conversations, shared experiences, and making memories. Mandy Hagan and Muzi-TheMbuzi, for instance, are often seen engaging in deep discussions, where they not only connect but also bond over shared experiences. For them, time is the ultimate gift, and their meaningful chats help them build deeper relationships.

Watch housemates express their love:

Acts of service

Sometimes, love is best shown through actions rather than words. Housemates who speak this language express their affection by helping other – whether it’s doing chores, offering a helping hand in a task, or lending emotional support during stressful moments. Jojo and Tyrone are a great example – always willing to jump in and help a fellow housemate with tasks, they show love through their actions. It’s the little things, like making sure everyone is fed or pitching in when needed, that show care and commitment.

Physical touch

Physical affection – whether it’s a hug, a pat on the back, ears, or a playful shovez – goes a long way in the Umlilo house. Mata, Nate, Nsuku, and Swiss are often seen sharing cuddles, kissing, and light touches, reinforcing their bond and expressing care. In a space where personal space is limited, these small acts of physical affection create a sense of warmth and security.

Receiving gifts

While not always overt, the giving of gifts plays a role in how some housemates express love. Sweet Guluva took gift-giving to the next level when he jokingly offered Ash-ley Ogle the greatest gift of all – his baby! While it was probably said all in good fun, it definitely showed his playful side and how some housemates get creative with expressing affection.

In the end, love languages in the Umlilo house create the intricate web of relationships that make Big Brother Mzansi so captivating. Whether it’s a shared joke, a quiet moment, or a burst of affirmation, each housemate speaks a language of love that connects them all.
