The aim of the Tshwane Music Festival is to bring together musicians and performing artists in an effort to educate them about the music industry and further provide them with skills on how to be business oriented.

Uhuru SA Music Entertainmnet also wants to promote artists and give them a chance to perform with established artists and also share ideas and experiences within the music industry.

BACKGROUND

UHURU (a Swahili word meaning freedom) is an African band & music production collective founded by Themba “DJ Maphorisa” Sekowe & Sihle “DJ Clap” Dlalisa that’s gained continental & international success. The group also founded UHURU Music Entertainment Pty Ltd under the leadership of a young entrepreneur Robert Sekowe. The company creates platforms for musicians through experiences that celebrate & promote talent all over Africa.

VISION

UHURU Music Entertainment’s vision is to create interest around Tshwane, stimulating tourism and promoting it as a destination of cultural significance.
The company focuses on developing and empowering this generation of future citizens through music education and youth entrepreneurship.

OBJECTIVES

UHURU Music Entertainment Pty Ltd together with its partners will be hosting the 2nd segment of The Tshwane Music Conference and Festival 2016: On the 23-25 May 2016, at Hall L, Tshwane Events Centre (Pretoria Show Grounds) and it will be followed by the Tshwane Music Festival on the 28 May 2016. This annual event aspires to improve the scale of career opportunities within the music and entertainment industry, specifically targeting Tshwane artists and musicians.

The Company will be celebrating and hosting a 3 day conference where musicians and artists get together to learn, share and engage with industry expects and pioneers through seminars and workshop sponsored by pioneer DJ Institute and supported by the City of Tshwane.
The purpose of the festival is to celebrate Tshwane youth upcoming musicians and performing artist by giving them a platform of exposure performing alongside some of SA’s big acts.
